Halloween 2014

We are growing and changing. Cowboy and Sunshine went to a mutual friends how for movies and popcorn. They came home sure that scary movies were SCARY and the desire to never watch one again. This was a valuable lesson for them and one we could not instill in them through words of parental knowledge. Of course we did say to them before they left that they have a choice and they can choose to watch or get up and leave. We were pleased to hear that the entire group decided after only five minutes the scary movie idea was not a great one. They finished off the evening with popcorn and games. Yeah! The idea of having one or two six foot-ish tall kids in bed with me and hubby would have been a sight for sure;)

Smiley chose to wear my Navy work uniform. He thought it was cool. Although, he wasn't prepared for people to call him G.I. Joe:)

Ladybug found an Ipod costume idea on Youtube.com and we put it together just before going out. Thankfully it was incredibly easy. Go Duck tape!!

Peanut was a sheriff again this year but added handcuffs to the outfit. I wouldn't buy them for him last year, mostly due to the cost. However, he maintained all year long he wanted them for his costume this time. A+ for sticking to his guns! He got the cuffs:)

Popcorn decided to be scary this year. He picked a black hooded costume and was the Angel of Death complete with arms spread out and moans:) Little does he know his bright eyes, freckled face and grin aren't a bit scary.

The Thou Die pumpkin actually said "Thou Shalt Die". The kids were hoping to scare away the pumpkin thieves that come each year to steal pumpkins and then smash them on Main Street.  This is one "tradition" that should have never started and certainly could end for all time.   The thieves drove by several times alternating with snail and cheetah speeds but were unsuccessful. Maybe it was the scary pumpkin;)
