Girl Scout cookie season is officially over for this troop leader and I have slept better knowing that the money is in the bank, the girls are done with cookies, and we can look forward to some fun activities this summer.
My one job (that I stress over, silly me! ) called yesterday and offered me a schedule that would work with our home schooling. Yes! An answer to prayer, thank you:) Ironically, this call came just after I completed a job interview with a new company. This new job, if it happens, would require more daily hours and can be broken up within the day allowing for more flexibility with scheduling. Perks are much greater income, greater opportunity for experience in my chosen field of work, less stress on the family budget.
Our taxes and Cowboy's FAFSA got all messed up due to missing one really important green button. We have been waiting all this time to find out Wednesday night. Thankfully, after checking on the online tax program everything was saved and officially filed 4/1/15. Funny, even on April Fool's Day!! Ha, it's finally done. I have the IRS.gov confirmation email to prove it this time. And hopefully in the next three weeks Cowboy's paperwork and college aid will worked out.
A big challenge this week was in answering a simple request for a family members phone number only to find out that "old pasts" were to be drudged up. Coming from a broken family as a child and growing up is challenge enough. Overcoming those challenges has become a strength and taken a lifetime of commitment. I have hope that the remainder of the family involved can overcome their challenges and successfully move on with life.
I read a blog this morning about a sweet mother who is struggling with post-partum depression and all that comes with raising a large family. My heart and tears went out to her. I remember being that young mom with so many little ones running around that I didn't know were to start or end. In reading her blog it was a good opportunity to reflect on the challenges and blessing that have been in our life this last few months. She sighted "When those moments come and issues surface, the resolution of which is not immediately forthcoming, hold fast to what you already know and stand strong until additional knowledge comes." from Jeffrey R Holland. A powerful quote and reminder to not loose hope when life seems to overwhelm us. I appreciate that we are not alone and can find help through prayer, family, friends, professional guidance and therapy.
Life is good, it is worth it!
