Zed's Meadow

Thanksgiving holiday was nice. We had snow just days before and most of it had melted off in time for Thursday. We met with hubby's family and enjoyed a wonderful turkey feast. One young niece-in-law happens to be a chef trained in New York's finest schools. She brought a green tomato pie that looked and tasted like apple pie. This same niece made jalapeno jelly for the summer family reunion and inspired Hubby. So, in November when our tomatoes were ripening in boxes in the garage. The peppers were chillin in the fridge. Hubby decided to use his furlough time constructively. He dried just about every vegetable he could find that hadn't already been bottled. He dried apples and made tomato sauce and jams. I was glad for the help as canning season and the homeschooling year seem to peak at the same times.
