Cowboy is driving!

This boy turned 16 awhile ago. He wanted to drive just like the rest of his buddies but had some obstacles to overcome. Mom the stickler insisted he follow the rules for driver's education, including the required driving time with parents. And he had to finish up an online math class that over the past year had become a source of  frustration for him. After all, this additional outside of normal school hours math (insert agonizing groan) class was encroaching on his social time. From my perspective it was a pain in the neck but the boy overcame his obstacles. He really wanted his social life back and the keys to the truck:)
Cowboy completed his math class March 1st (just three days before the math deadline) and got his license on March 4th in honor of completing it. Woohoooo, yippee, and YES!

Friday night was Cowboys return to social life. It included driving solo to a buddy's house where he met up with a group of friends, ate dinner and snacks, played games and got to practice the concept of curfew. Don't you just love growing up and being responsible? He made it home with two minutes to spare. Hubby laughed and I was relieved.

Here he is actually smiling for the camera. I practically had to chase him out to the driveway before he and Sunshine took off for school so I could capture this momentous occasion.
