Time

Today was crunch time. After all it was Saturday and Halloween is on Thursday and my kids have grown out of there stash of costumes and I don't like to buy expensive cheaply made costumes. So...the sewing machine got dusted off this morning and the creative juices began to flow. And so did some of the unpicking of stitches. Arg. Anyway we now have all children ready for the trick or treating night and they are oh so ready. I am thrilled to have found this wonderfully simple costume pattern from Rachael at House of Noise...I mean boys.

House of Noise... I mean boys.: DIY: Kids Costume - Cowboy Chaps and Vest

This turned out to be a FUN  and EASY costume to make and I have one very happy Smiley who is looking forward to wearing it. Also, I found a cute bumble bee costume pattern online then did some brain storming with Ladybug. After digging out a craft box in the basement we went to work on a quick sundress in red and sewed black felt dots all over it. We added black wings and tights. The end result was a ladybug costume that fit Ladybug just in time for today's Girl Scout Halloween party. We finished it at 4:25 pm and the party was at 5:00 pm. I even got in a quick shower. Off we went as a ladybug, Amish woman and a mom dressed in Halloweeny scrubs, aka PJs.

The rest of the crew are ready to be cowboys and an Indian. Popcorn decided that an Indian was much more fun than a cowboy or a sheriff. He especially likes the headdress with feathers and the bells on the wristbands. This guy is all for excitement and a costume that makes sound is exciting!
Pictures of the crew will come as we get to Thursday.
